Abstract

Dental maturity is an important diagnostic and treatment factor in orthodontics and pedliatric dentistry. 320 orthognathous subjects make a representative sample. They are classified into 8 groups of 20 examenees according to their sex (malle, female) and age (7 — 14 years). Dental maturity is assessed by analyzing the orthopantomograms and by using methods Nolla. The results are presented in tables and statistically analyzed. Dental maturity norms and age norms for maxillary and mandibular permanent tteeth (excluding third molars) for boys and girls (7 — 14 years) are determined. The norms could help in orthodontic and pedodontic diagnosis, treatment and prognosis for the school-age patients in Zagreb, as well in other regions.
