THE OIL AND GAS PLANTS GROUNDING PERFORMANCES IN THE CASE OF A GROUND FAULT IN LOW-VOLTAGE SYSTEM

Sažetak
The primary goal of oil and gas plants grounding systems is to ensure the safety of personnel and prevent damages of equipment under normal conditions of power system as well as in cases of ground fault and lightning flash. To ensure that the grounding installations are in satisfactory condition, their inspection as well as their grounding performance measurements must be carried out. Device groundings can be placed in grounding system which includes or does not include the grounding of power source (transformer substation, electric generator). Under ground fault condition in low-voltage system, there is a great difference between mentioned the two cases regarding grounding impedance and potential profile of ground surface and of grounding conductors as is shown in this paper. The measurements usually show the system performances and do not include the grounding of power source.
