Sažetak
Situated teaching in the police education is aimed at bridging the gap between the contents which are given in the process of learning and teaching and professional situations in real life. It is therefore of vital importance to analyze the job descriptions and identify the desirable competencies of those who are employed in these positions. Situated teaching is based on problem solving thus reducing the „fragmentation“ during the teaching process. Situated teaching is a learning process that is shaped as problem solving; a problem is a typical professional situation in real life environment that a future police officer will be faced with in the workplace. The complexity of the situation is such that a student can learn it alone or with a teacher's support. The experience of solving a particular professional issue is a contribution, an achievement in situated teaching process where a problem is identified, determined who it is assigned to, which „tools“ are to be used in each procedure, i.e. how to solve the problem.
Situated teaching requires a different kind of education management which is achieved through interdisciplinary approach including the involvement and assimilation of contents from various scientific disciplines within the police education. The contents implementation enables an integrative development of all distinctive traits and abilities as well as the achievement of most adequate results. The integration between different scientific disciplines and real life situations can best be implemented in situated teaching process.
