Sažetak
The human visual system is daily confronted with a variety of physical stimuli reaching it from the environment. Our brain receives and processes the information. However, this information is sometimes interpreted wrongly in terms of colouring and geometric information. This happens when we are faced with various psychophysical visual effects. The possibility to experience these effects shows that our sensory system is not perfect and that different people perceive different surrounding objects in a different way, which is also connected with the reproductive system of the medium. Therefore, a lot of psychophysical visual research is devoted to the study of stimuli and their perception in the brain.
Besides the effects that appear due to the imperfection of our visual system, there are those based on higher levels of perception - in the human brain. The McCollugh effect is one of these – it is an adaptation aftereffect, which is influenced by the colour and geometric structure of an image. This paper explores the manifestation of the McCollugh effect through various media during the reproduction of specific images to reflect its important role in the colour perception information.
