Abstract

Metal consumption was investigated in the sample of 1000 cast crowns of different types produced by ten dental technicians. The specification of the obtained results is shown graphically and in tables. The conclusions particularly indicate that the average consumption of dental gold for front crowns amounts to 1.80 g. on the upper teeth, about 1.65 on the lower teeth, while on the molars it is about 2.20 g. per crown. The difference of even 20 % obtained in general consumption of this material between individual technicians analyzed is equally interesting. This difference is due to different procedures in modelling and processing of crowns.
