Contribution to modernization of bridge load regulations

Sažetak

The authors assert that Croatia's future regulations about bridge loads will be based on European standards. Nevertheless, some features specific to Croatia will be kept to take into account local climatic, environmental and transport characteristics, that differ from those typical for other European countries. In addition, regional differences within our country will also be taken into account. Loads and their influence on bridges are analyzed by making comparisons among new European standards, past regulations and current regulations, in order to identify interventions to be made on existing bridges.
