The efficiency of topical fluoride application to deciduous teeth of preschool children

Sažetak

Fluoride was applied topically in a group of preschool children 3 to 5 years old in 3 nursery schools of Zagreb. Another group of children from 3 other nursery schools of equal age served as controls. The children were brushing their teeth and rinsing under control with a 0,3% solution of sodium fluoride at intervals of 2—3 weeks. After 15 months the caries increment in dmf-surface in the treated group was 52,6% whereas in the controls it was 100%.
