Sažetak
Typodont 'is a modern teaching aid for preclinical training in the construction of fixed orthodontic appliances — regardless of type.
Various firms in other countries, and especially those that include material and tools' for the production of orthodontic appliances in their manufacturing proigram have instituted the production of aids referred to under different names in the literature (Typodont, Unitek Orthostudy System, Dentaurum Universal Orthodontic Dentoform, Columbia Dentoform etc.). The price of these aids being rather high (they range to over $ 150 per piece) induced the authors to approach the construction of typodonts which can be finished in any dental laboratory in less than 8 hours from material produced in the country and at inconsiderable cost. Details of the construction of the various laboratory phases are- described, the photographs and drawings help to give insight into the technique of producing the
device. Commenting upon the possibility of putting the typodont to practical use the authors end their report with the conclusion that such a teaching aid should be included in the regular devices for preclinical training of orthodontists.
