Sažetak

The article briefly recalls remarks addressed to young people by Pope Benedict XVI during his pontificate thus far, especially on World Youth Day. From the Pope's words, it is evident that he is constantly attempting to strengthen the young in faith, urging them to be proud and steadfast witnesses to the Risen Christ. The Pope does not conceal from the young that life is often hard and full of difficulties. Therefore, the Holy Father urges young people to be steadfast and perseverant in their faith, in order to achieve their personal life plans.
Benedict XVI fondly recalls his predecessor, the Blessed John Paul II and his words. He continually reinforces faith and hope in the young and urges them to build their lives upon Christ, aided in their enthusiastic following of Christ by the examples the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints. The Pope emphasizes that the Bible is the foundation of Christian faith, and the practice of lectio divina is of great use in understanding it. In the modern world, it is not easy for anyone, including the young, to live a Christian life. If the young are rooted in Christ, they will find it easier to live their faith in the Triune God. They are invited to strive actively to achieve a better world. They are also urged to be holy and to attempt to bring other young people to Christ.
