Sažetak
The critique of ideology in contemporary understandings draws inspiration in the first place from the Marxist tradition’s enlightenment impulse, because in that version it concerns itself with exposing scientifically the oppresive and false visions of society which in the last instance serve as legitimation principles for the practice of political power by particular social groups. This paper provides an attempt of introducing critiques of ideology and an analysis of various privilegings of possible candidates for that activity, from authors that belong to: (a) Marxist theoretical canon and socialist political-social undertaking (Marx, Engels, Lenin etc.) – agents (working class, Communist party, intelectuals) are directed towards social emancipation by exposing „false conciousness“, in other words, ideology; (b) heterogeneous theoretical orientations linked with liberalism as a political and theoretical project (Mannheim, Rorty, Fukuyama) – except for the case of Mannheim’s sociology of knowledge which is, at least in the beginning, characterised by a vision of an agent for critique of ideology (free-floating intelligence), for the rest of agents (ironist, last man) it is necessary to corroborate a statement that they are much more than recipes for an ideal-type construction of agent models because they represent a moral, cognitive and a political attitude regarding the accelerated changes in the social-historical epoch of late modernity. Special focus belongs to an investigation of a theoretical and practical (political) engagement of Marxist authors resulting in a critique of Marxism and political socialism on behalf of different variants of liberalism.
