Sažetak

Although St. Francis did not write any catechetical manual, catechists are inspired by his example. This article speaks about Francis' relationship with nature and creation. Francis experienced nature as a place that offers us many opportunities to encounter God. His relationship to nature is expressed in his canticle of creation, which speaks of creation as brother and sister. An integral part of creation is also man, and death. These basic elements of the canticle of creation is the starting point for our catechesis. Nature is a good catechetical foundation when thinking about God, creation, man and death. Nature is an integral part of catechesis in some groups, such as scouts and YouFra. The results are positive, and so as a result nature should be included more in regular catechesis.
