Sažetak
It is of a great importance for actual relations between the Church and the state that both institutions mutually respect the independency and the autonomy of each other. That does not mean that the state could ignore the presence of the Church in the society: on the contrary they are invited to collaborate, especially in the cases regarding the improvement of the common good. The separation between the state and the Church in the spirit of the European politicalculture does not demand from the government nothing else but refraining from using the faith/religion for its proper needs. Likewise, the faith/religion should not misuse the state in realising proper goals; but that does not mean that faith and institutions of the religion must be ignored or separated by the state. This is confirmed by the communication of the Parliamentary assemblies of the European council which stated that the democratic states must “allow all religions, which confirm to the conditions of the European conventionof human rights, to develop inside the boundaries of these conditions and to find and to find an appropriate place in the society.“ On a theoretical level there is clarity, but on the practical level, there areimprovements and perfections still to be done.
