Sažetak
The article questions the present understandings and interpretations of the human person, with a view to the possible outcomes
of some contemporary philosophical theories and directions. During the history different attempts were made in search of a definition of the human person. Boethius defined the man as the “individual substance having the mind”. Following Boethius, saint Tomas Aquinas tried to point out human originality and singularity. Modern times are marked by advancement of natural sciences, characterized by a fragmentary view of the person, which could lead to unthinkable consequences and jeopardize the status of the person. The article discusses the harmful consequences of a partial approach, and accents the positive side of the integrative and thorough approach.
