Sažetak

In this paper we present the scale and regression equivariant properties of median and mean. Their application is presented in image processing where they are implemented in image denoising filters. We consider two types of image noise: impulse and Gauss noise. We show that the denoising quality of the median and the mean filter is related to the properties of the least absolute deviation and the least square problem, respectively. These filter properties are manifested in the sense of data error distribution generated by the image noise models.
