Disciplinary Responsibility of Customs Officers

Abstract

In the introductory part of the paper, the author defines disciplinary responsibility and explains the function and importance of the customs officer. The main part of the paper outlines the normative regulation of disciplinary responsibility of customs officers in the Republic of Croatia de lege lata and de lege ferenda. Each institute of disciplinary responsibility of customs officers is accompanied by the standpoints of legal theory, court cases, and statistical data. It is concluded that the system of disciplinary responsibility is regulated in a clear and comprehensive manner. The author has suggested certain improvements using the examples from an analysis of comparative legislation.
