Sažetak

The comparison of the Law on Intelligence Services of the Republic of Croatia and the Law on the Intelligence System of the Republic of Croatia with the Report of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Document 8301 and the Recommendation 1402 of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe of 26 April 1999 has shown partial harmonisation of the legislation regulating the Croatian intelligence system with European documents. The author discusses the chosen model of the Croatian intelligence system, points out solutions to certain problems, and suggests a model that would manage to achieve the main principles – the rule of law, legality, political impartiality, and respect for human rights and freedoms.
