Effect of phosphogypsum on strength of lime stabilized expansive soil

Sažetak
The use of phosphogypsum as an additive to lime, to enhance its performance in soil stabilization, is analysed in this paper. The phosphogypsum is a by-product of the phosphate rock processing during production of phosphoric acid. Expansive soil samples used in this paper were stabilised using three different lime proportions: initial lime content, optimum lime content, and less than initial lime content. The results reveal that the addition of phosphogypsum to lime led to improvement of both the early and late strength of stabilised soil.
