Sažetak
The paper outlines the procedure of job analysis in the Croatian state administration during 2008. The analysis is conducted in order to harmonise the existing job descriptions contained in the Rule book on Internal Structure with the Decree on Job Classification in the State Service. All state civil servants have been in for med about the procedure and purpose of the analysis, and the servants who
conduct the analysis have under gone special training. The author points out the preconditions for conducting a quality analysis, the role of the Central State
Office for Administration in conducting the analysis, and the most common difficulties and typical problems that occur in practice. After the analysis has been conducted and job description for ms have been made, all job descriptions have to be included in to rule books on internal structure. The suggested job descriptions contained in rule books on internal structure will be reviewed by a special review
and evaluation commission that is to be established by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. New job descriptions in the state civil service should be a basis for an equal work load, appropriate performance evaluation of the state servants, planning and employment of state servants of appropriate professions
and professional expertise, as we ll as planning of education and in-service planning
