Sažetak
Few publications have left such an important mark on Croatian culture as has the journal «Luč». It was first issued in the autumn of 1905. From that time on, up until the publication of the final issue in 1942, this journal with its motto «God-Nation-Social Justice», together with the Catholic academic societies «Croatia» and later «Domagoj», was a crucial factor in the organization of Catholic youth. Likewise, it was fundamental in initiating and promoting the Croatian Catholic Movement, the forerunner of the Catholic Action, a movement for the spiritual transformation of public life based on a Catholic worldview and in accordance with the motto of Pius X «Omnia restaurare in Christo!» Aside from its organizational role, the journal was significant from a literary aspect also, in that it made many valuable contributions in the field of poetry and literary criticism, and was thus instrumental in the development of a program of Catholic Literature in the first half of the 20th Century. For a substantial number of Catholic intellectuals «Luč» was the intellectual and spiritual foundation on which they built their public secular and ecclesial lives.
