Sažetak

The author presents great changes that have been initiated in construction industry by the use of information technology and new procedures for calculating bearing capacity and stability, and by the computer-aided shaping and production, expert systems, introduction of Internet, adoption of European standards (Eurocodes), and development and use of novel materials and structures, as well as by introduction of new ideas and interdisciplinary cooperation. The assertions made in this paper are illustrated by citing some relevant Internet pages.
