Sažetak

The article discusses the problems of social and ecological consequences of marines building in the Adriatic area; it also tells of the whole concept of nautical tourism based on the expansion of marines building. It points to the fact that in our country marines were built in urban, semi-urban and "wild" areas, even in the "national parks", and that there are future plans for the same attitude in this kind of building. All this speaks quite well of the fact that the concept and the consequences of thus envisaged programs for development of nautical tourism have not been properly considered. The article also touches on several basic aspects of positive and negative results the marines building has lead us to in most cases.
@SUMMARY UVUC = Negative aspects and consequencies of marines building are enumerated to point to the basic elements of alternative approach to the development of nautical tourism in our country. Then, the need to re-vitalizing, reconstruction and re-organization of existing ports and havens as well as the re-vitalizing of particular places in the Adriatic area has been insisted on. It is assumed that the re-vitalizing would cause increase of the attraction of nautical tourism, and tourism in general, with far better social effects than were those got by building marines exclusive of other considerations.
The conclusive lines bring out the suggestion of the structure of future sociological research work to obtain better knowledge of nautical tourism elements.
