Abstract
Production logistics is a branch of logistics which manages coordination of internal material flow, from procuring the material to production sites. Changing the product, the shape as well as the time and location of its usage, is often considered to be a part of the overall production process, i.e. the overall process of creation or adding value. The application of services which add value to the product by means of logistics (transport, warehousing, procurement, etc.) interrelates logistics and production function. The elements of logistics are integrated in all stages of the business process, especially the production. It is necessary to procure goods from adequate suppliers, to control the material and transport it to the manufacturing plant. Companies have come to realize that quality is one of the most effective and powerful tools to contend with the competition when it comes to products as well as services. Quality should become a way of thinking and once this standard is accepted, it soon becomes a company's imperative.
