Sažetak
The aim of this research was to observe and prove the efficiency of ultrasonic
therapy as cwplied to patients with manifest osteoarthrosis of the knee joint. The group
treated contistect of 25 patients, of whom 19 women and 6 men, their average age
being 65.26.
The apparatus used was Cosmogamma Ullrasonic Thc:rapy M 32. The treatment
comprised lO mobile appl~cations of 6 minutes each, the intensity of the therapeutic
dose being l.2W /cm2 The ll clinical parameters being observed include the morning
stiffness of the knee, the crepitations. in moving, the pain both while resting and
moving, the palpatioo pain, the effusioo of the knee, the motion range, the knee
perimeter cicumference measured over the patella .center, the distance between the heel
tip ·and the guteal wrinkles, the time spent in walking lO minutes. The efficiency
manifested in the· above ll cl ini cal parameters following l O ultrasonics treatments
shows the functional capacity of the knee being increased and the pain decreased. This
points to the treatment of osteoarthmsis of the knee by ultrasonics as one of the most
efficient methods in physical therapy.
