Sažetak
Ulnar motor nerve conduction velocities (NCV) were measured before and
after 10 minute stimulation with galvanic and modulated electric stimulus, đura·
tion of 5 ms with pausc 20 ms (frequency 40 Hz), intensity was 2 mA. For stimu·
!ation were used rubber stimulating electrodes SO x 50 mm, at the medium third
of right brachii, along n. ulnaris. Subjects in this study were healthy volunters
from the staff at Center, their ages ranged from 22 to 67 years (33 ± 13). NCV in
ulnar nerve was before stimulation 57,37 ± 5,72 mis, and after the stimulation
56,48 ± 4,8 mj s.
No significant differences were found between two measurements (P< 0,05).
This may indicate that stimulation of nerve in healthy subjects with low frequency
electricity does not change the NCV. The results suggest the stability of nerve
structure of ulnar nerve on electric stimulation and local metabolic processes on
the place of stimulation.
Further studies with demaged nerves, radiculopathy, neuropathy (diabetes
mellitus, etc.) under the same conditions, would be helpful.
