ARM SUSPENSION IN TREATMENT OF PERIARTHRITIS HUMEROSCAPULARIS (PHS)

Sažetak

Wc experimentally prooved that the treatment of Periarthritis of glenohumeral
joint is much faster and more affective when using arm suspension.
Arm suspension has been known for a long time (6). In our study we applied
arm suspension in an original way using a dinamic orthosis (6). Unlike the
ear1ier means of suspension, this one makes the arm »weightless<< on all the
levels in the space. By applying the dinamic orthosis to the arm, a biomechanical
»hybrid« is formed, whlch enables painless, active movements in the shoulder
joint, at first with one third, then with one half, and finally with the full amplitude.
Having in mind early and late side-effects of the drug therapy, we experimentially
prooved that the treatment of Periarthritis faci.JJitated by arm suspension
is preferable.
