Sažetak

A study of the incidence of gonorrhoea was carried out in the big sea port town of Rijeka. The results indicated that a significant factor in the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases was promiscuity, especially among the young, and to a lesser extent prostitution. The gonorrhoea morbidity rate showed a declining trend among the citizens, but was high with seafaring professions and professional drivers. Statistical data showed that among seamen sexual diseases still pose a great diagnostic, therapeutic and epidemiological problem.
