Managing Purposes
Božidar Jušić
Sažetak
As reaction to dominant instrumental organizational determinants (»know-how«), the statement about organizational purposes requires a deeper sense — »know what« and »know where to«. They were understood as »centering« between environmental dependency of organization and its autonomic evolution, as well as among multiple, changeable purposes of different organizational interest groups. The reconciliation of those purpose differences is made possible by arrangements of realization sequence, by its distribution in own autonomy spaces of different stratification levels (hierarchic description) of the system, or the functional units, or by harmonizing only some pragmatically necessary common denominator of unity. The purposes do not determinate as exclusive none of the management styles nor the organizational model, priority of either of them is determined by a change of circumstances of either management or organization. The determination of organizational purposes should be understood as instrument of system complexity reduction, as reference to difference solution. Besides, the purposes are a favorable instrument only in a change of environment whose function of change is probable or known. In other conditions, the other programs of organizational changes will have priority: feed-back or conditional programs.
