Workers' morbidity in an iron smelting plant in Slavonska Požega

Sažetak
The technological process in a smeltery in Slavonska Požega is described and data on the rate and causes of sick leaves are analysed. It is shown that after respiratory diseases the greatest number of working days was lost because of the diseases of the locomotive system. The rate of absenteeism in the plant is significantly higher than for the commune of Slavonska Požega or the Republic of Croatia. Basic clinical data for two workers who have become ill with silicosis in the past 10 years are discussed.
