On the Contemporary Considerations of Energetics

Sažetak
The article focuses on the issue of energy alternatives for Yugoslavia, on paths of energy development and on the notion of so-called energy-independence of Yugoslavia, on the basis of considerable importance attached to energy within social development as a whole and taking into account contemporary forecasts of energy future. In the relevant documents (e. g. »Foundations for the Strategy of Technological Development«) concerning long-term perspective, there in no adequate evaluation of the energy situation now-a-days, let alone a rational concept of the satisfaction of energy needs in the near and long-term future.
With respect to energy sources, the author pleads for respecting the over-all societal interest and for the concept of relative autonomy. It consists of the adoption of a number of parallel systems for the satisfaction of energy needs at the societal level, leaving the possibility of flexible adaptations with respect to the selection of energy sources in particular periods, as well as the mode, the technology utilization.
