Sažetak
During the first 90 days of fattening, three groups of Holstein Friesian bull calves were fed rations based on three nutritional levels: high level following the method for baby feed fattening, moderate level with 80 % of energy and proteins contained in the high nutritional level, and low level with 60 %. During the remaining 120 days of fattening, all the three groups were fed intensively and ad libitum. Moderate and low level of restricted feed intake, as related to the high level in early fattening, influenced in the same order the reduction in dressing percentage by 1.11% and 0,67% (P>0,05), the increase of meat cross section area at the 11 th vertebra by 5,0 and 11,3 cm² (P > 0,05), the reduction in fat area by 16.1 and 17.4 cm²(P < 0,01), and the reduction in loin area by 7,2 and 4,4 cm²(P > 0,05). Better quality of carcasses obtained by applying technology,of fattening based on feed restriction during the first 90 days of fattening, can contribute to better financial results in bull calves
fattening.
