Sažetak
Data for 1669 litters dropped in 1989 of primiparous BOSTOP sows belonging to the generation 19 at the Swine Farm Nova Topola have been compiled. lt was established that number of still-born piglets was as high as Yr= 0,3966 - 0,1978Xr + 0,0446X²r according to the number of total born piglets. Correlation was expressed as µ y/x = 0,2510. Number of piglets died during the suckling period of 21 days was as high as Yr = 0,3848 – 0,1467Xr + 0,0659X²r related to the number of piglets born alive. Concelation was expressed as µ y/x= 0,3975. lt has been concluded that the production procedures and the health care have to be adapted to the results of investigations. Causes for higher number of still-born piglets and higher mortality of piglets during the suckling period are not algebraic so it is not obliged to be expected higher losses in the litters of sows bred for higher prolificacy.
