Sažetak
The aim of this experiment was to determine the rate and extent of ruminal release of calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc from red fescue, meadow fescue and English ryegrass. Mineral release was determined by incubation of grass samples during 0, 2, 6, 12,1 8, 24 and 48 hours in the rumen of three sheep fed meadow hay. Effective mineral release from red fescue, meadow fescue and English ryegrass is as follows: Ca 70.10, 58.08, 56.43; Mg 81.25, 86.35, 78.82 and Fe 66.44, 55.23, 65.98; Zn 78.04, 63.72, 56.43. There are differences between the grasses in release of Ca, Mg, Fe and Zn.
