Sažetak
Since the desired outcome of every psychosocial intervention is behavior change, the phenomenon becomes very complex for research if the focus is shifted from the individual on the whole family system. The research and theoretical knowledge are lacking in this area. This is the reason why the primary purpose of this paper is an attempt of operationalization of the family readiness of change, primary based on the literature review of individual theories of readiness to change and critical thinking about them in the family system context. In the beginning of this paper, detailed explanation of readiness for change and intervention (treatment) readiness is presented. Since there is no present theory which would explain family readiness for change, authors elaborated several theoretical concepts explaining behavior change of individuals which they valued as applicable in the conceptualization proces of family readiness to change. Finally, a review of Family system theory is given, which presents a theoretical frame for evaluation of the concept of family readiness for change. At the end of this paper, the operationalization of the family readiness for change concept is proposed, based on presented theoretical concepts together with the discussion about discourses of scientifically based review of this construct.
