Sažetak

The paper offers a list of basic polymeric materials used in manufacturing of many different types of construction elements. Elastomeric bearings are analysed in order to fully explain the concept of design, production, installation and maintenance according to the European standards for structural bearings EN 1337. In the process of production and attesting of structural products, the control by the manufacturer as well as the certification body is of great importance. The basic conditions of testing which are obligatory according to the European standards are given in the example of shear bond testing.
