BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE NEW CONVENTION ABOUT CONTRACTS ABOUT INTERNATIONAL MARITIME CARRIAGE OF GOODS FULLY OR PARTLY BY SEA (ROTTERDAM RULES, 2009)

Abstract

In this paper the authors will show basic principles of the new Convention about contracts about international maritime carriage of goods fully or partly by sea (Rotterdam Rules). After that we shall deal with signatories of the contract about transport, the surveillance right and transporter’s
and executor’s liability. We shall also define transport documents, electronic record as well as mixed (multimodal) transport.
