Sažetak
Application of stone columns technology in the last twenty years in Croatia has experienced strong expansion. It is mainly linked to the momentum of infrastructure works at the beginning of this century. Indeed the application of remediation of the ground using stone columns is unavoidable segment in solving various tasks in the problems in the field of geotechnical engineering. It is possible to use in different types of soil and layering. Above all this is the low permeability of fine-grained materials, high compressibility, although it is possible to use and in coarse soils. The paper presents certain successfully applied solutions to real engineering tasks. Recommendations are made for further engineering activities in order to further improve the described procedures and technology.
