Abstract

The article deals with the entry words in the dictionary of Jakov Mikalja (1649). Mikalja's dictionary is one of the most important old Croatian dictionaries. Entry words in that dictionary are not written in the same way as in modern dictionaries. Most of the entry words consist of several words, they are not always written in alphabetic order and entry word can be idiom as well as a pair or several synonyms. One word as entry word is rare in Mikalja's dictionary and in other old Croatian dictionaries.
