Few words on the conditioning of career and politics on the example of Franjo and Jakov Fancev

Sažetak
As he described in his autobiography, during his childhood in Karlovac Stanko Lasić was a friend of Jakov Fancev’s sons. Jakov Fancev was a brother of a literary historian Franjo Fancev. Both were born in Virje and it seemed that both would have prosperous, brilliant careers - until the involvement of politics. The contribution deals with the consequences of a political incident that occured in 1920 in Galdovo upon the Fancev brothers’ careers, with the main aim at providing a picture of social life in Croatia between the two world wars on the basis of two biographies.
