Abstract

Koprivnica Municipal Museum has participated in the event Museums’ Night several times with various exhibitions and actions. This year the theme was Koprivnica in the 1930s. The exhibition consists of three parts. The first part presents first editions of books by famous authors and/or with interesting titles which were printed in the 1930s.
The second part of the exhibition is photographs of men and women, members of the cultural society called “Domoljub”. The third part is a museum agitation which consists of provocative red flyers with various items of information about important people, buildings, cartoon characters and so on in the 1930s from all around the world. Flyers are scattered around in permanent museum display and their appearance is very aggressive to the space they occupy. This museum action can be explicated in the words of Vladimir Mayakovsky: Every act of violence in history is one step closer
to perfection
