Sažetak
The results are presented of the investigation into the toxicity of metoxy-ethyl-mercury acetate in the production of fungicides. The most common findings were skin lesions due to vesicant effect of mercury. Darkly impregnated patches on the skin, corresponding to mercury stigmas of exogenous origin were also comparatively frequent. Systematical examination covered 44 workers exposed to mercury. Their clinical picture revealed no systemic injuries due to organic mercury. Individual symptoms, such as the narrowing of the field of vision, the neurasthenic syndrome, kidney lesions, could not with certainty be attributed to exposure to mercury. The study does not allow any definite conclusion as to the relationship between the excretion of mercury in the urine and clinical symptoms. However, the values of mercury content in urine were a definite proof of the increased exposure to mercury.
