Sažetak

The clinical picture and therapy of a case of burns due to phenol, occurring in a factory for coal tar products, is presented. The resorption of the poison was not so pronounced as to cause any damage characteristic of phenol poisoning. The author briefly reviews the technological process of the production of phenol by distillation of anthracite and brown coal, as well as acute and chronic poisonings due to phenol.
