Sažetak

Marssonina leaf blotch is an apple disease caused by the fungus Diplocarpon mali (imperfect state Marssonina coronaria). Severe infection can lead to the early defoliation of trees. The disease was recorded in 2001 for the first time in Europe. During the last few years, first losses have been recorded in organic apple orchards. Marssonina leaf spot was found in Croatia for the first time in 2015. The article briefly describes disease symptoms, biology of the fungus D. mali and disease control measures.
