Sažetak

In modern fruit production, codling moth is an economical pest of apple and pear that is regularly suppressed using insecticidal treatments. The long‐term use of insecticides from the same chemical subgroups in too large doses has caused the development of resistance in pest populations in Europe and the USA. The paper describes the mechanisms of resistance of codling moth and provides an overview of current research of resistant pest populations in Europe and in the world. The paper also reviews insecticide groups which have been licensed and were used to control codling moth in Croatia for six decades.
