Personal Characteristics and Life Goals of “Cellogirls“ Fan Group

It is not easy to research and analyse the concept of fans and fan groups. In order to adequately
comprehend and study their characteristics, principles, activities and behaviour patterns,
both the social and cultural context are essential. This paper presents the results of
research on some characteristics of 2CELLOS fans that was conducted on the sample of 188
respondents from all over the world. The data about relevant socio-demographic characteristics
were collected by using an online questionnaire which consisted of close-ended
questions; a shorter version of the scale for testing the importance of life goals was also applied.
The survey results show that the 2CELLOS fan group is not homogeneous in its sociodemographic
characteristics, although most members are young heterosexual women with a
higher level of education, no clear political commitment and some kind of music education
and experience. As for life goals, intimacy and achievement rank highest.
