Sažetak

Accurate and reliable analysis ol composition with the definition of crystal components that are part of calculus is a prerequisite for effective medical surveillance of persons forming kidney stones. It can greatly facilitate the assessment and treatment in such cases. To determine the composition of the stones used in numerous physical and chemical techniques. FTIR spectroscopy is a physical method for the analysis of the stones used require sophisticated instrumentation and a comparison sample of known standards. The paper presents twenty years clinical laboratory experience in IR analysis of kidney stones. The main crystalline material that can be found in the stones are divided into six main groups: calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, infectious stones, urate stones cystine and others.
