Sažetak
This paper analyses and interprets specific museum documentary
material from the documentary resources “Evidence regarding
exhibitions in the Archaeological Museum of Istria”. It is in
regards to two handwritten books which contain the signatures
and impressions of visitors to the Museum of Pula, the
predecessor to the Archaeological Museum of Istria. The first
volume contains inscriptions made by visitors dating from 1st
September, 1902 until 31st December, 1921. The second
volume chronologically follows the first, with visitor’s inscriptions
up to 12th April, 1929.
Today, these books serve as valuable secondary documentation
that provides information regarding visitors, i.e. users of the
permanent exhibition of the oldest museum in Pula. In addition,
as they are a credible document of their time, they represent a
valuable source for those researching Pula’s history.
