Sažetak
Symptomatology, diagnostics and the treatment of the patients with mycotic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract is presented in this review. Mycotic maxillary sinusitides have been separated from the bacterial ones by means of differential diagnostics. In cases of ulcus lesions of the nasal septum mucosa, differential diagnostics allows not only for carcinoma, lues and tuberculosis, but also for a possibility of mycotic inflammation. Due to a multitude of fungi, the treatment of mycotic rhinitides and mycotic maxillary sinusitides still presents a problem. Appropriate antimycotics are applied in general conservative therapy as well as in the local therapy by rinsing of the nose and maxillary sinus. In deep invasive mycoses, beside conservative therapy, surgical treatment is recommended with the extraction of detritus and the bone, if it is affected. Long and inappropriate antibiotical therapy is one of the major causes of frequent mycotic nose and maxillary sinus diseases.
