Sažetak

In the region of comunes of Našice, Donji Miholjac and Slavonska Orahovica the occurence of tick-borne encephalitis was observed from 1964-1984. In that period 23 cases of the disease were registered occuring sporadically, striking mostly woodmen and game keepers. Many of the cases were very serious, and in the development of the disease two patients died. The persistence of HI antibodies was examined with the individuals whe have overcome the disease, and these antibodies have been detected seventeen years after the patients recovery from the illness. By an inquiry on epidemiological data, the geographical areas where each of the diseased had come in contact with ticks were located. Examining the infection with tick-borne encephalitis virus among workers in the Forest Economy of Našice, the persistence of specific antibodies was detected in 19.1" i, of the examined. This research has proved frequency and spreading of the tick-borne encephalitis in this region, where two loci of that antropozoonosa are clearly conspicious: the lowlands forests, predominantly along the Vučica river, and forests in the Papuk and Krndija mountain area.
