Sažetak

During spring and fall of 2017 extensive perambulations and field surveys have been undertaken on the wider territory along the Drava River. The objective of thise research, which was undertaken within a scientific-research project TransFER (IP-05-2016-5047), was to collect additional information on known archaeological sites and the discovery of new sites connected with the production and processing of iron. During the surveys over 200 archaeological sites were perambulated of which over 60 were new (Tab. 1). Even though more of these new sites, dated to various archaeological and historical periods (Fig. 2), from late Neolithic/early Eneolithic, through Bronze and Iron age and Antiquity up to medieval and Modern period, contained only pieces of ceramics, pieces of blacksmith’s or/and smelting slag were also found on a large number of them (Fig. 1). Even though pieces of Modern Age ceramics most probably found their way to these positions during fertilization or other agricultural activities, the dating range of all these sites points to the fact that the territory of the Koprivnica and Đurđevac part of the River Drava Basin has always been a favourable place to live.
