Sažetak
The 10th Summer Training Programme in Management and Conservation of Marine Resources within the Exclusive Economic Zone was held in Halifax from 11 June - 17 August 1990. It was organized by the International Ocean Institute (IOI).
Dr. S.P.Jagota, former Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs of India and leader of the Indian delegation to UNCLOS III, directed the programme.
The 23 participants represented 19 countries from Africa, Asia, South America and Europe. They contributed a broad range of work experience and varied academic backgrounds.
The programme attempted to increase awareness of the fact that ocean management adds a new dimension to development strategy, which requires broadly interdisciplinary skills, new institutional and legal infrastructure and new forms of local, national and international organization and cooperation. The presentation of papers was followed by discussion.
All the papers are issued in a special publication.
